City tycoon Charles Muhangi is dead

City tycoon Charles Muhangi is dead. Vincent Sekaate, the CID Spokesperson confirmed Muhangi’s death.

Ssekate said they had received news that Muhangi, who owns a string of businesses both in Kampala and Mbarara, died at his home in Buziga, Kampala.

Sekatte said they have sent a team of Police officers to his home, and that details would be provided as and when they come through.

Muhangi had been embroiled in a longstanding battle with fellow tycoon Drake Lubega over the ownership of Qualicel Bus Terminal commonly known as Baganda Bus Park.

Mid-last year, Lubega’s attempt to retain Qualicel by challenging a Constitutional Court directive requiring him to vacate the bus park hit a snag.

The Supreme Court, to which he had run for his appeal, dismissed Lubega’s move.

Muhangi, the owner of Horizon Coaches, had ordered his rival out of the bus terminal

Last month, President Yoweri Museveni met the duo and agreed to settle their dispute.

Muhangi, a former African Rally Champion, was the also the owner of Horizon Coaches.
