The leader of opposition in parliament Betty Aol Ochan has blamed the government for the loss of more than 30 lives on Lake Victoria boat accident.
Ochan challenged the government to stop being reactive so that it can protect its citizens.
Ochan said this when she was addressing journalists at Parliament following the boat accident on Lake Victoria
She said that has laws and policies required to save most of the citizen’s lives but because of impunity and lack of commitment among officials that can help to implement these laws and policies Ugandans end up lousily lose lives.
However, LoP’s blame a remark followed Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda’s warning to all stakeholders who blame government on disasters instead of joining hand to end and control them.
